Sikh Motorcycle Club UK: A Year in Review (2024)

The Sikh Motorcycle Club UK looks back on a remarkable year filled with milestones, selfless service (seva), and community engagement. Here’s a brief recap of our journey through 2024:

January–February:
We teamed up with Midland Langar Seva Society, helping provide hot meals to those in need across Leicester, an event captured by the BBC. #Seva #CommunitySupport

March:

Highlights included a Scouts visit to Hamilton Gurdwara Sahib, a motorcycle display event at Guru Nanak Gurdwara, and sunny community fun days showcasing Sikhism. #CulturalExchange #SikhYouth

April:
We celebrated Vaisakhi at Fosse Park for the first time, joined Nagar Kirtans in Derby, Nottingham, and Leicester, and showcased turbaned riders spreading Sikh awareness. #Vaisakhi #NagarKirtan

May:
From Punjabi School fun days to raising £960 during the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride and exploring the Peak District, it was a month of bonding and giving back. #MensHealth #MotorcycleRides

June:
We celebrated the 50th anniversary of Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Ipswich with a grand motorcycle procession and attended Falcons Primary School’s summer fete. #GoldenJubilee #CommunityEvents

July:
Events included Sikh Channel’s 15th anniversary celebrations, serene Gurdwara visits, and honoring Punjabi heritage at Thetford’s festival. #SikhHeritage #PunjabiCulture

August:
At the Spinney Hill Park Mela, we entertained kids and provided refreshments, fostering cultural exchange and community unity. #CommunityCohesion

October:
We paid respects during Ride to the Wall and joined the Guru Nanak Annual Sponsored Walk, raising funds for BBC Children in Need and Punjabi schools. #Remembrance #Seva

November:
This reflective month saw us attending Remembrance Day services, honoring sacrifices at war memorials, and celebrating Sikh faith at Leicester Nagar Kirtan. #RemembranceDay #SikhFaith
